Dilip is also a fanatical angler, having fished for pike and carp in particular since childhood. In previous years he has written numerous articles in both ‘Pikelines’ and ‘Carp Fisher’. Having re-married in August 2009, Dilip now fishes with his angling mad wife, Karen, the couple targeting big pike on the River Wye in winter – so inspirational that Karen, an artist and wildlife enthusiast is currently producing a series of oils inspired by this fearsome predator. James shares his father’s piscatorial enthusiasm and is currently a fishery student at Sparsholt College, Hampshire.

Finally, Dilip’s other passion is for Scottish rock band SIMPLE MINDS. In December 2009, he and Karen met frontman Jim Kerr and lead guitarist Charlie Burchill at the NEC Aftershow Party – a moment Dilip describes as ‘awesome’. As ever, his enthusiasm is infectious – even George, his 14 year old stepson, has been converted!
